The Lycoming College wrestling team fell to NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University 25-10 on Monday, Feb. 1. Junior 149-pounder Isaiah Britton earned his 20th win of the season.

Stephen Hinton started the match at 125-pounds with a 7-2 victory against David Luthy. With the match tied 2-2 going into the third period, Hinton put together a flurry of action late in the bout, getting an escape followed by a takedown and three near fall points for the win.

Britton earned his ninth major decision and improved to 20-1 this season with a 12-1 win against Eddie Stephenson. Britton dominated the match, picking up 5:32 in riding time while scoring seven near fall points.

Sophomore Kyle Crouthamel used a solid second period to win 7-2 against Devon Passman at 174-pounds. Crouthamel hit a reversal, taking Passman straight to his back for two near fall points.

Lycoming (12-6) had three wrestlers combine for 11 near fall points. The Warriors also earned seven take downs.

“I’m very happy with Hinton right now,” said head coach Roger Crebs. “We expected that to be a much closer match than 15 points. As a team, we’re starting to wrestle healthy which is big as we enter the qualifying rounds for the national championships.”

The Warriors are on the road for their next meets in a quad match at SUNY-Oneonta on Saturday, Feb. 6. Lycoming’s first match will be at 11 a.m.
