After earning the school's 13th conference Most Outstanding Wrestler award, senior Stephen Hinton has earned his third Warrior of the Week award of the season. Hinton, who had never placed higher than fourth in the ECWC Championships, swept through the 125-pound weight class to win the conference title and earn his first national qualifier on Saturday, Feb. 25. Hinton beat nationally-ranked Nigel McNeal of Cortland State, 3-1, with an overtime takedown. In the championship match, he beat 2010 ECWC Champion Tyler Marlow of Brockport State. Hinton, who was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler, has 11 days to get set for the NCAA Division III Championships on LaCrosse, Wis., as the two-day event starts on Friday, March 9 at 11 a.m.
